My final for Colleen's Stop-Motion class at PCAE, Based on the prompt word, "Metamorphosis."
When toxic evil banana causes a dustbin full of garbage to rise into a horrible monster, the world turns to a small hero, a soft dr.ink can that transforms into a robot, to save the day and our environment, by illustrating the triumph of recycling over landfills.
Oh MY how I worked myself into the ground to get this piece done (and there are STILL details I'd like to change eventually). I animated every night for a whole month and poured my heart and soul into making the props. I stayed up late working on getting scenes right, but at the same time I managed to do a lot of improvising!
Whereas everything else is stop-motion animated, I built Garbaggio, the garbage fiend as a life-sized puppet, not unlike cookie monster, and employed suit-mation (the technique used to make godzilla movies) to bring him to life.
Inevitably, technical difficulties plagued the project. We (my friends and I) thought my animations were cursed! Files didn't load properly, props fell apart, once every computer at the school blew out, all while I was trying to finish this.
Unfortunately, I never got to screen this masterwork of stop-motion and suitmation (technical difficulties on the opening day
But here it is, for all to see!
