...is coming.

June 26th, 2009

This is my last portrait/prediction about The Fallen, because this one is practically legit.
An amalgamation of my previous drawings and the info I gleaned from this official poster ([link]).

The elements of this design tell us a lot about The Fallen's role in the upcoming film. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Check out how the ridges around his head form the shape of an Egyptian headdress.

More predictions (with any luck, it will turn out to be spoilers)

The action somehow draws the transformers to Egypt, where a huge battle is staged at the Great pyramid in Cheops. While the Autobots and the Decepticons focus on each other, something even more dangerous is brewing beneath the pyramid. Something older than all of the Tranformers, something far more deeply evil than Megatron.

The Fallen, one of the first Transformers created by the allspark, was in fact the force that led Megatron to stage his coup on Cybertron. The Fallen instilled in Megatron the belief that only the strong should rule. The Fallen's image is worn proudly on the chasis of all Decepticons.
Sometime in history, The Fallen came to Earth. The Fallen and his henchmen became the rulers of the creatures they found there — the ancient Egyptians. The Egyptians named their new god Set (Setti or Seth), who was god of evil and chaos. Set's followers could change shape and disguise themselves as objects. The Egyptians depicted their new god in art. To this day, historians are baffled to see what look like vehicles in the Egyptian heiroglyphs. In addition, the animal head used in artistic representations of Set is no real animal on Earth. The Egyptians said that Set had a mane of fire.

Somewhere in the film, The Fallen gets revenge.
Who would have guessed?

I am a Bible believing Christian.

"I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is."

To be the Kingdom is not to change behavior...
but to be transformed, and simply live as your new nature dictates through the Spirit
:iconglorfon:
Wow, that's intense.
:icontruthfullife:
actually, i think The Fallen actually inspired the god Anubis..... i think due to his dog-like head

Anubis wasn't really evil though, he was actually a pretty good guy. He helped bring Osiris back to life in "the Ennead."

Set looked like Anubis, but he was different in several respects. whereas Anubis' snout (being a dog's) pointed up, Set's pointed down, which conforms to this robot's design. Set also had more square-ish ears that resembled horns or robot antennae. Plus, being the god of chaos, Set is a better fit for The Fallen, mythologically speaking.

However, in all honesty, I think you're right in that they'll probably write the fallen as "Anubis," just because very few people know anything about Egyptian Mythology. Pop-culture-wise, Anubis is more recognizable thanks to films like "the Mummy Returns" (shudder and retch). I guess that I chose to write about Set because I let myself believe (probably quite foolishly) that the script would accurately represent a well-defined mythic character... in a Michael Bay movie.
*sigh*
